Echo was founded in 1947 by Lester E. Hiney at 822 E. Main Street in Springfield, Ohio. The company started with six employees and outgrew its facility with an additional 72 employees.

In 1972 Dr. A. A. Gavey took over as President and the company moved to a bigger facility on Columbus Avenue. Dr. Gavey passed away in 1974 and Mr. Frank McNeill and his wife (and Dr. Gavey’s daughter) took over before they both retired and sold the company to Mr. Paul Kauss in 1981 who ran the company for 18 years before retiring and turning the keys over to Mr. Roger Steedman and eventually Mr. Ronald Hill in 2001. Mr. Hill’s tenure ended in 2020. P & D  now actively manages the company.
